Hello to the community, this is my first post so I apologise if I’m on the wrong forum. I have just purchased a My Passport ultra; I have just done my first back up via my windows 7 backup facility. My question is, Do I need to register a password or can I use My Passport ultra without a password, including connecting and disconnecting it from my computer? The reason I ask is that I also have a WD My Book which has locked itself claiming wrong password but I wrote its password down and I know it is correct; my concern is that the same thing will happen to My Passport ultra and so I would rather be able to use it without a password. Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.

2: If you don’t want to use a Password … then don’t set/use one.
(i have a My Passport Ultra … and have never used a password, works fine)
