12Mbps file transfer

Hi everyone,

First, I’d like to mention that I did try to search a lot, but I didn’t find the same issue as mine nor solution for slow file transferring

my home setup:

  • iMac connected with 802.11ac, average link speed 273.78 Mbit/s
  • PR2100 connected with cat6 synced on 1G
  • RaspberryPi connected with cat6 synced on 1G

When I transfer files from my iMac to the PR2100, the average speed is around 18Mbps
When I transfer files from my iMac to the RaspberryPi, the average speed is around 150Mbps - 80Mbps
I’ve also tested an old iomega ix-dl2 that I have and even this poor device was by far faster!

The NAS is doing nothing when I transfer files to it. CPU is low and not going high or something
and just to be clear - there is no issues in my LAN, I’ve tested speed between computers and to my poor raspberry Pi

Why WD is so slow with SFTP / AFP?
Can this be resolved or someone already did?

That sounds really slow even over AFP. I am getting much faster than that on my Macbook Pro.

for the other two cases they just made me replace the box for no reason. not sure they know what they are doing/saying and this is why I’m trying to ask here.

I tried WD support they just refer me to a 3rd RMA
