My laptop has gigabit ethernet and if I hook mybook live directly up to laptop I’m getting 60 MB/second which is about twice the speed I get from usb 2 at 30 MB/second. Using a non gigabit router my file thransfers are around 11 MB/second. I called WD and they said this was top speed for non gigabit router. Is this right? I didn’t know non gigabit network was less than half usb2 speed?

100 megabits =~ 12 MBytes.
