1 year old 5 year warranted WD black replaced then replacement broke and says out of warranty

 I had a 1  or 2 year old 5 year warranted WD black replaced then replacement broke 3 months later and says out of warranty.

Replaced defective drive has serial [Deleted].

Frustrated.

Hi you need to contact WD to sort that out. Make sure you use the serial number off the drive not the box it came in to try the warranty check. http://support.wdc.com/warranty/index_end.asp?lang=en  . Also you should not post the drive serial number in the forum, what happens is someone else see’s the number and they register the drive causing you problems in the future.

I did use the number off the drive. As they sent me a refurbished drive I assume they should have the data on their system. Oh wait, maybe their drive crashed.
