1.05.04_B - NetFlix "Are You Sure You Want To Exit" Nuisance

Folks -

I do not know that this nuisance occurred in this specific release, but I believe it started at the time that the NetFlix interface changed in the past month.

What I noticed is that when i would shut my component (Amp, TV, WDTV+) system down, the WD box would no longer shut off.  What I have discovered is that if I am in NetFlix, and the WD box Power Off is executed, the NetFlix now pauses the power down sequence by asking “Are You sure That You Want to Exit” or some such question.

So, for those of you that use a Universal remote for all your equip (like the Harmony), the global Power Off button will leave the WDTV box on if you were last watching NetFlix.

Don’t know if this is now the case with other modules like Pandora or even watching a video, but it seems unreasonable to ask to exit user input if the Power Off command is requested.

Off should be Off, right?

Thoughts?

That’s part of the NETFLIX application, not WD’s programming.  Send an e-mail to NetFlix and complain.

And if you haven’t noticed, NetFlix has its OWN Screensaver.   You have to press any button to wake it up.

So, if you are programming a macro to do something and the SCREEN SAVER is active, the macro still won’t work.

Old news. Just search the forum.

Although I don’t use this option (yet), but I do own a harmony 880. Can you not program an “enter” to be sent by default at all times? Even if you aren’t in NetFlix, it should be a safe action.
