WD TV MINI - Fast forward AVI

I’m hoping someone can spead some light on the issue,  I just brought a MINI and was watching a AVI movie, 2 hours all 1 chapter, when I paused and resumed I hit the  wrong button and it started again!

so I tried to FF and it only goes X2 ( although the instructions say it goes up to X16) then when I got to the required position ( finally) i hit the FF button agai n. and it returned to the start !!!  so I did the FF again  but this time hit the Play button, again returned to the start… after many attempts and instruction… I still haven’t resolved this issue

any help would be good
