Hallo, ich habe mir jetzt ein paar alte Filme von Youtube heruntergeladen (Admiral Canaris, Kaisermanöver, Schachnovelle). Ich hatte bisher alle Clips (Klavierkonzerte etc.) die auch in mp4 encodiert sind problemlos wiedergeben können mit dem WD-Live Player. Die letzten Filme, auch in .mp4 encodiert lassen sich aber nur mehr ohne Ton wiedergeben. Der WD-Player läuf auf der aktuellsten FW (…32). Der Windows Mediaplyer kann die Dateien problemlos wiedergeben, weshalb ich auf ein Problem mit dem WD-Player tippe. Die Dateien liegen alle auf 2 verschiedenen NAS-Servern, auf die auch ein Windows Nettop-PC zugreift. Zugriffsrechte etc. sind nicht das Problem, weil das ja alles für die 90% anderen Dateien ja auch klappt. Ich sehe im Wiedergabefenster des WD-Players bei den fraglichen Dateien immer die Info “Audio 1 Format: unknown”. Da die Toninformation ja offenbar vorhanden ist (sonst gings ja nicht mit dem Windows MP), habe ich versucht die Dateien umzuformatieren. Ging aber auch nicht.
Wenn mir jemand einen hilfreichten Tipp geben kann, wäre ich sehr dankbar.

Was sagt Mediainfo, welches Tonformat drin ist? Und was heißt umformatieren? Remuxen bringt nichts, wenn der Codec nicht unterstützt wird. Da musst du bspw. mit Handbrake neu kodieren.

Itried to encode the .mp4 file to .avi/mp2, but this didnt work. I rolled back to Version 01.86, no result either.
The Mediinfo gives the following details:
MPEG 4 (Base Media): 492 MiB
1 Video-Stream: AVC
2 Audio-Stream: Ogg
That is about all I could retrieve as information

Open MP4 > Video Output > Copy
Audio Ouput > AAC(Faac)
Ouput Format > MP4 Muxer
Save as > MP4
Um OGG zu AAC ( oder AC3) … Einsatz konvertieren Avidemux http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/
Öffnen MP4 > Videoausgang > Kopieren
Audio Ouput > AAC ( Faac )
Ouput Format> MP4 Muxer
Speichern unter > MP4

Thanks a lot. This was really helpful information. But I wonder why .mp4 encoded files have Ogg Audioparts. I have seen that other .mp4 files have ACC Audio incorporated. Whaat also works fine with WD TV.

With your helpful remarks, I could fix the problem. I did the download again with the help of the DVDMediasoft downloader. This downloader has the ability to convert the downloaded file to a specifi Format. I requested a download to .avi Format and this one has the correct audio encoding. Means it works an I lik it.
