I’m following this forum for many weeks and i really envy you a lot!!
I’m a happy WD Live smp user and i’d like to improve my experience but i can’t, I’ve searched everywhere but it seems there is no way to use customized themes wihout Thumbgen.
I tried to write to Thumbgen developer asking for a Mac version but no reply.
I know that i could install Parallels or Bootcamp to have dual boot (WIN/MAC) but i think it’s pretty unconfortable for just 1 software.
Can’t believe to be the only user with this request.
Is there somebody that can give me a good news about some work in progress?
Still hoping…

Unfortunately it doesn’t help…
i need a solution to use customized themes with imdb rating, etc etc… and it seems it is possible only with Thumbgen.
Maybe one day some Mac developer will decide to create a Thumbgen version for OSX.

What about the virtual windows program in which you run thumbgen.

I know that i could run dual boot software like Parallels but i think it’s quite uncofortable have a full Windows partition just for Thumbgen.
I tried Vine and VineBottler that is a lighter solution but it doesnt work

You can use virtualization software to run Windows inside of OS X as long as:
(1) your Mac has sufficient disk space to install Windows
(2) your Mac has sufficient RAM to run two OS’s at once (>=4GB typically)
(3) you have access to a version of WIndows you can install
A good choice of VM is Virtualbox: https://www.virtualbox.org/
Virtualbox is free, relatively easy to use, and is available for Mac’s. I recommend it over VMware for most users.
With a multicore machine with sufficient RAM, you will barely notice any performance degradation of WIndows.

Thank you… i will try. (still uncomfortable solution for just 1 small software but better than nothing)
Just a reminder as well,
Windows Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 … is required to run Thumbgen

Just thought i’d mention it … if you do get Windows / Mac emulation happening.

I know, (i realized it because Framework didnt work correctly using Wine and WineBottler to launch Thumbgen).
