YouTube and Attached HDD Issues

I have a 2TB Seagate external USB 2.0 drive attached to one of my WDTV Live boxes.  I am able to connect to the drive through my other WDTV Live boxes, and my computer without issues.  However, if I open YouTube, the WDTV Live box is immediately not visible in Network Shares on the other WDTV Live boxes and my pc.  If I do a Device Restart, it fixes it, but as soon as I open YouTube again, the same thing happens.  I have also connected the hard drive to another WDTV Live box, and the exact same issue occurs.  I have even connected a WD 2TB external USB 2.0 drive, and the same issue happens.  What could be causing this?  Thanks for any info.
