Warranty question

I just received  a WD TV Live (WDBHG70000NBK-HESN) for a gift. When I registered it I was informed that I had 253 days left on my warranty. I did some research on this product and ads indicate that it comes with a 1 year warranty.

Am I missing something?

If I had to guess, the WD is not new.  It had already been registered by someone else 3 months ago or so.

Hi and welcome, contact support so they can update the warranty date. 

The warranty on my WD product is wrong. How can I update, correct, or extend the warranty on my WD product?

I’ve seen this before,

warranty is 1 year from purchase date, WD has no way to know when you purchased

if I recall there’s an option to upload a receipt, etc …

which would then change the dates to 1 year from date of purchase

I’ve had to RMA an item or 2 in the past, WD has always been very good about this

you give them the correct info, they take care of it
