WD TV Media Player got new firmware 4 weeks ago--any news on why the WD Live SMP hasn't followed?

Just curious if anyone has heard anything on this?

the reply jubei04 gave you to your “When’s the next firmware” question … applies to this question as well.

_Hi, currently there is no information about future firmware updates, any information on this will be shared on the WD Community and support page. _

I appreciate the response, but I have to admit that this is bitterly dissapointing in that it leaves the question open.

If WD would simply let the owners of this model know if its still going to be supported in the future or not, that would heal a lot of wounds.  Even if the answer was “no”.  At least we’d KNOW.

At the very least its leading to lost sales.  People who own this model might buy the successor if they knew there was no more support for this one.  At the most though, it’s creating resentment against the enitire company for the information vaccum.

If the answer is "yes’ (it will still be supported), we don’t need to know dates.  Just told that the last very flawed firwmare won’t be the End of Life for the unit.  We’d wait patiently then (or at least a lot more than we are now).

I wish whatever excuse there is for a Product/Line manager for the WD media line would be told this.
