WD TV Live - Rollback firmware Problem

I’m trying to rollback my firmware because files I have are turning into folders and I am unable to delete them from my recycle. This topic was covered here:  http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Live-Plus/WDTV-Live-random-avi-files-being-converted-to-folder…. I followed this thread:  http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5800/ on how to rollback my firmware but when it 'updates" it, it doesn’t move from 0%. I waited a couples of hours and it’s still at 0%. Finally, I unplugged the cord and all it does is go right back to the 0% screen. When I take out my usb port, the sfreen goes half into asian and says I need to reinsert a usb. It seems my wd tv live is screwed and unable to “update”. Can anybody help me?
