TV series naming

i have now figured this out to the best that I can right now. 95% of the time its picked up if you do the following, dont bother with the auto setting stick to manual.

Go to:  http://thetvdb.com  For tv series. (There are listings of TV series for various languages I assume this would be relevent to those that do not use english for file naming).

and: http://www.themoviedb.org/  for movies

These are what the WD Live uses to get info. Search for what tv or film it is on those sites, that will give you the season number and episode number written as they have done, also specials are included.

For Movies you just need to write the title, ie World War Z No full stops dates etc. When you use “get content info” it will show a list of films with dates for you to choose.

For TV it is different. So for example, Star trek Voyager Season 4 episode 8 would be named in the exact following way:

Star.Trek.Voyager.s04e08. (Inc the full stops after each word you dont need to do episode title The WD will add it.)

Here are a few more: Doctor.Who.(2005).s01e01. Rose (For doctor who you will need the year in brackets. The reboot series starting with Eccleston is all 2005 for all seasons after that. ie      Doctor.Who.(2005).s06e10.- The Girl Who Waited. You dont need to do the actual title all you need is up to the series and episode details

Now for the special episodes of things it is different. The file naming format is the same but season numbering is 00 episode will be whatever is listed on http://thetvdb.com for example Doctor who day of the doctor recently shown is a special so has to be named in the following way, (you dont need the year) Doctor.Who.s00e83.the.day.of.the.doctor

All specials are s00e?? Its a matter of finding the episode number on http://thetvdb.com.

I hope this helps anyone new to this. Its quite easy really but always a problem with multiple programs like Star trek and Doctor Who. In case anyone interested. The Star trek Franchise is as follows: The Original: Star.trek.s01e01. - The Man Trap The Next gen: Star.Trek.The.Next.Generation.s01e01 Deep Space 9 Is:

Star.Trek.DS9.s05e17.A.Simple.Investigation Voyager: See above. Enterprise: Star.Trek.Enterprise.S01E04.

Phew… Hope this helps someone. Im sure this has all been said elswhere on the site, Oh and for the record once on the WD the episode order will change due to how the WD software works. The files wont change just the order they appear in. Same with Films from a set, ie fast and furious will not appear in order as they will be correctly named, you cant put 1 2 3 4 etc. Once mastered the WD is the best bit of kit i have. Dont know the last time I used my Blu Ray player.
