Problem playing some MKV's

Hello

I have purchased my WD TV Live yesterday and I have one problem to play MKV’s.

Some of them play nice, but I have an entire folder of movies who are freezing the WDTV.

After I played one of them, the WDTV simply won’t read any other file anymore and I must switch off the power on the WDTV and reboot to work again with all my other files.

I think that probably the files that doesn’t work are incompatible with the WDTV or somtheing else.

The files are not corrupted, I can run them with no problems on my Macbook.

Can someone please check the log of the video to help me ?

Thanks !

It’s a well known (any annoying) bug that playback of one meessed up file results in all following proper files not being played unless a power-cycle is done. On first glance, your file seems to be within specs and should be played back, what I found curious however was this

Remux the file replacing these, maybe they’re confusing the SMP.

Hi

Thanks for your response.

I tried another solution, I transferred the movie in question on a USB stick (new Corsair Flash Voyager 3.0) and playback is no problem.

Do you think that my problems were due to my external hard drive?

It’s possible. You could create a MD5 hash for the file on the stick, copy it over to the HDD and see if they are identical. Then you could try to “repair” the HDD in windows and try again if playback works from there. Or skip all this and just use the stick
