Playing BluRays From NAS?

Just trying to figure out if this is “expected” behavior or  I’m missing something:

  1. If I copy the BluRay disc [using DVDFab] to an iso file, I can highlight it and press play and it will play. However chapters don’t work and using the “skip to desired time” choice locks up the device - it just keeps playing without skipping ahead until I go to setup and run Reset Device. If I turn it off and on after trying a skip, it restarts where it lft off.

  2. If I copy to the disc’s folder structure, it won’t play unless I dig into the folders and find the subfolder with a bunch of mts files.

DVDs play perfectly with startup menu in either format.

Is there a better way to do this? Disc space on the NAS is not an issue, so I’m not worried about space / needing compression.

bluray iso support is pretty basic

still I would not consider that experience to be normal

if you can you’ll find much better support for standalone m2ts files

The WDTV plays the largest title found on a BD so if your movie is made up of several M2TS, you won’t get to see the entire movie. Remux to one M2TS with TSMuxer or to MKV.
