Latest firmeware problem

I’ve installed the latest firmeware to my wdtv live but i got a problem with the arabic subtitle when playing the movie.

nothing appeared only dots and brakets. so i tried to rest to factory defualt to go back to old firmeware but another problem appeared. I can’t play movies that have mp4 or mkv formats.

please help me…

Try a power cycle on the drive and if it still the same then try to roll back to the previous firmware.
