Issues with obtaining Picture on TV from WD Media Player

I have 2 issues at the moment with the WDTV products.

  1. when i turn on my media player the TV cannot seem to pick up the picture?

I have to pull the power cable out  of media player , leave for a few seconds then power up again, it will then find a picture.

  1. I recently added items to my Mybook Hard drive, when i go to view through the media player it cant find them?

They are definately on the My book HD as i can watch them from the Ipad and my Google Nexus phone throught the My Cloud app.

I still watch any older files i have.

Anyone experienced this before?

any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the WD community.

Try to reset the unit by pressing the reset button on the bottom for 3 to 5 seconds and then try to use the unit normally and see if the same issue persists.

Regarding the second issue i would like to know what type of My Book unit you are using, since you mentioned the WD Mycloud software.

Hi there, dont want to seem stupid but…

i cant seem to find the reset button?

It’s on the bottom of the device but you can also reset it via the settings menu.
