Help with Album Thumb

Hello Community, I’m a new user of this device and I’ve reading the forum even before buying this thing.

Today I have to ask for your help because I can’t figure out how to show the front cover of an album on the upper left corner on the screen when you’re on Playback Mode.

Here is the thing I wanna achieve:

Are you sure your links to images are working?

Cheers

what I did try yesterday was to connect to my music folder as a Network Share and in that case when I play a song I can see the artwork on the song AND in the upper left corner… why this is not working on My Media Library mode?

Anyone guys?

Sorry, no help here but just to say I’m having the same issue.

My album art displayed correctly in the top left before the latest firmware update and no longer shows, I’ve tried everything, a couple of them show for a split second and then disappear. I’m wondering if this is an issue with the new firmware (1.11.14)?

hey msrysa4 !

Look, I’ve tried some things during these days and found like a “workaround” to solve this. I have the latest firmware too.

First thing to try was, try to obtain album information via Options button. So then I went to my computer and signed in to Freebase and personally uploaded the .JPG to the album gallery (in my case The 2nd Law from Muse) after that I tried again to obtain album information using the Options button on the WD and that’s it! the JPG that I’ve uploaded to the site now was displayed on the upper left corner.

So if you check using your PC you can see a file with the extension .thumb (or something like that, Im at work now so I can’t remember exactly) but, if you open that file using a photo viewer you can see that is just a JPG with 140x140 of size.

Basically what I’ve tried later was take any JPG, set the dimention to 140x140 and name it using the following criteria: name%20of%20the%20album.thumb

and that works for me so I can put any jpg on the albums folder and see it on the upper left corner.

Pikazzo you’re a star that worked for me too!

I tried it first with a 140 x 140 and it worked so tried it with other sizes and that worked too so I don’t need to resize all my jpegs. The album name does have to match exactly though so I still have a bit of work to do but I’m happy it works as it was really bugging me.

THANKS

Glad to read that msrysa4!!!

It’s a good tip that you’re saying works without resizing too!

Well, keep in touch and now tha’ve found the Ideas Exchange Im going to put some ideas oriented to music listeners, all the music interfase is a little bit odd on that thing…
