Has anyone added there own Genre’s names. I did manage by editing the XML file create a “Musical” genre. and it worked, however I have tried it again, by editing the xml file and changing the Genre from Action to “Western” .

It shows in the film info as genre - western but it doesn’t show a Western section when you Filter by Genre…

Wht am I doing wrong… it worked once

If you make an edit to XML files AFTER they’re already imported into the media library, you have to do one of two things to get the WD to re-import the changes.

1-- Rename the media file (and XML) to a new name and then rescan the containing folder.

2-- Or clear the entire media library to force a re-import of everything.

Thanks, the first option worked a treat.

I can add my own Genre’s now and let the media player sort them for me
