Content info ,folder.jpg ,and theme related questions

Hello I recentle started getting content info and i use a pic for each folder and it changed that…for example i have a a bunch of movies in a folder called movies…and used an image and named it “Folder” so the movie folder had a specific image…and when i started getting content info now its using the first pic in the folder…i renamed the image i wanted to use again to folder and its still not working…Any help please…also how can i get different themes?

Theme’s designed for the WDTV Live Hub are interchangable as long as they are under 30 MB.

I suggest Darklight.zip or AlaskaLIGHT_V1.6_15_TBN_VERT.zip

On the WD TV Live, goto Setup and then Appearance and then into User Interface Theme’s.  You can use one of the built in one’s or upload your own…if you want to upload your own, then I suggest you revert back to the original default theme before uploading anything, because it can overwrite some of the files and make things go wonky and tough to navigate.

Then, on your computer, navigate to the WD TV Live login page (for me it is http://192.168.1.140)) then type in default password (which is admin) then click on Appearance, click on Browse and upload the Darklight.zip or whatever other theme you have and click Submit.

If it uploads successfully, then back on the WD TV Live, back under Setup->Appearance->User Interface Theme, select the theme you uploaded and click Apply (yes…even if it says it is already applied or running)

As for the movies, and folder structure…if you have a bunch of movies (like over 50 or 100) you probably want to break it down into Genre’s.  So, have a Action folder, a Drama folder, etc.  Then within those folders stick your Action and Drama movies

Then, within the idividual movie folders, have the .JPG and .XML for each movie.  Example:

-Movies

–Action (folder)

–Action.JPG

—Batman (2012)

—Batman (2012).JPG

—Batman (2012).XML

–Drama (folder)

–Drama.jpg

—Cloud Atlas (2012)

—Cloud Atlas (2012).JPG

—Cloud Atlas (2012).XML

I used WDTVHubGen to automatically download/rename and gather the JPG and XML info about the movie.

Hope that helps you out.

Hi sonny803.

If you use the get content info function, it saves the picture files as .metathumbs rather than as .jpgs. When the pics are .metathumbs, then it will use the first one as the folder picture, so just rename your folder pic to 1.metathumb then it will be the first pic in the folder and all will be well.

The folder.jpg will only display as the folder picture if all the other picture files in that folder are also .jpgs.
