Adding AMAZON Player

How do I add AMAZON as a player.

There are several titles I want to watch that are not available fro NET FLIX that I can get on AMAZON.

Is there a procedure for adding AMAZON???

No.

SInce WD devices do not support Amazon VOD, there are a few easy options, though you may have to outlay a bit of $$. Initialy I bought a DVD player that had Amazon support. Now I do it via  a media server that can be played through my SMP. Both PlayOn and Plex support Amazon, and can run as media servers that push to your SMP. Plex is free, but a little more complicated to setup, PlayOn is $60 for the software, and is pretty easy to install and get working.

If you have a computer on your home network, PlayOn is a nice addition to the WD SMP. It will give you access to Amazon VOD as well as hundreds of other channels as well. Of course the really easy option if you do not want to deal with computer stuff is to buy the cheapest Roku and add that to your stack of hardware.

There are a couple of solutions not yet mentioned.

1.  Buy a Roku that has Amazon Instant video.-- they are not that expensive.

2.  If you have a tablet that allows you to tap off a port on it with a cable, get it running on the tablet and plug it in TV’s HDMI.

I have an iPad – adapter is quite pricy, but works.  iPad must be Gen 2 or higher.

I also have a Kindle Fire HD tablet that has a micro HDMI port – all that is needed is the right HDMI cable and you are in business.
