If you’re having problems getting any obscure mode working on your TV with this box like 12bit or 24 hz mode it’s PROBABLY your HDMI cable, moral of the store I learned is don’t buy HDMI cables from the dollar store if you want something fully functional.

Moral of the story, encode your files to 8 bit which is supported by the WDTV.
