Hello,
Here is my usual environment
WD TV live <-> HDMI SONY Bravia KDL-40EX500
WD TV live <-> SPDIF (optic) SONY STR-K670P (Amp)
SW TV live <-> LAN with Synology 207+ NAS
I upgraded from 1.03 to 1.05 (I skipped 1.04 due to HDMI CEC issues). Then I factory reset all.
Previously I got Dolby Digital and DTS outputted correctly to my AMP when I read videos from Synology by DLNA
Now i don't
AMP does receive anything when the video files has DTS or Dolby Digital. (No indication of signal receive or DECODING ERROR displayed)
When the Video file has MP3 sound (MPEG), no problem, I have the sound coming to my AMP.
Of course I've activated Optic Out with Dolby Digital and DTS selected on WD TV live settings
Also acording to my TV, if I select HDMI output, there is Dolby Digital outputted. (I cannot confirm DTS over HDMI as my TV does not accept it)
So, there is something wrong with the Optical Out.
Thank you in advance for your support.
You should try first a "factory reset" before rollback to previous firmware.
In my case, with proper reconfiguration (ie, reselecting what the amp accepts natively, ie ACC, DTS and DD) solved my problems :-)
thanks for the advice i did rollback to previous firmware which did fix the problem for me but i thought i'd give it another go and updated to the new 1.05.18 firmware again and then did a factory reset.. the factory reset sorted out the problem.. I now have DTS and DD with my hidef videos. ![]()
I can confirm the same issue with mine and FW 1.05.18. Anything with DTS audio causes a brief blip of static then no audio over optical to my receiver. Did a factory reset, then went back in and configured the proper audio settings (bitstream over optical and made sure DD and DTS were enabled) and Dolby Digital seems to be okay, but DTS still doesn't work.
Rolled back to the previous firmware and everything works fine.
Well I just tried upgrading to 1.06.04 and can confirm the same problem also exists with this new firmware. DD and DTS over optical out quit working for me again after the upgrade. Full factory reset didn't help. Rolled back to 1.04.12 again and it works fine.
Hi, i just want to confirm this problem.
Just got my wdtv live and updated to 1.06.04
Optical out to my reciever,
stereo OK.
DD not working at all - I get a loud popping sound and then nothing after that.
DTS seems to work, but i only tried 2 files with DTS
Edit: I'm using MKV 720P or 1080P, with 6 Channel Dolby Digital audio
Still no resolution to this issue with the latest 1.07 firmware
Hi everyone,
I've just gotten the chance to test the previous WDTV Live on my configuration.
http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupi
A colleague just lent it to me.
Therefore we exchanged them to test more configurations
I got no issue. DD & DTS are received and output by my AMP.
So if you all agree, I summarize DD5.1 and DTS on Optical out results based on the messages we exchanged all together :
