WD Remote app can't see my WDTV Live

Hi, I was hoping someone could shine some light on this problem I have with my WDTV Live and the WD Remote app.
Basically, I load up the app and it can't see any media players at all on the network. I get the feeling that it may be due to the player being wired to the network while the iPhone running the remote is connected wirelessly, but I'm mystified on how to tackle the problem...

The Remote app doesn't support the WDTV Live that this forum is speaking of (the Live HD and Live Plus).

 

It only supports the 2011-model Live Streaming Media Player and Live Hub.
