Network Problem with Mac - need help! "Share not accessable"

Hey guys,

i just bought my WD TV HD Lan, but somehow i cant manage it to connect it properly with my network.

The WD Box is connected with the ethernet cable to my MacBok which is connected to the router via Airport.

The WD sees my Mac but i get the message “Media share not accessable”.

The folders I’m sharing run with SMB.

I already tried Playback, with which I can access my shared folders, but cant open any files somehow.

Can anyone help me with this? I’ve been on it for hours but still couldn’t find a solution.

btw: My WD Box is running on 1.01.24 FW.

I’m new here but maybe you’ll see this.

Try connecting the ethernet from the WD Box right to the Router for best results.

Under network settings on the WDTV Live make sure that you do not have auto connect turned on at first because your mac will require a password. Also make sure that under the Mac system prefs, File Sharing is turned on and options SMB (Windows) .

After you have successfully connected to the mac with the correct user and password you can then turn on auto connect on the WDTV Live and it will save you doing it manually.
