Netflix is flaky in November

I’ve been trying to watch Netflix using my WD TV Live + and it has been a bit flaky these past few weeks.

Doing any kind of trick modes is a recipe for disaster.  When you try to resume playing it will often get stuck with a full red buffering bar and stay that way as long as you’re willing to wait for it (hours).

It does not automatically advance to the next episode of a series ( I was working my way through Soul Eater part 3).  I have to go into the episode menu and manually advance to the next episode.

Sometimes it won’t even start playing.  It will get the full red bar and stay there with a black screen forever.

I can play the episodes just fine from a Windows box on the same network.

I don’t know if Netflix upgraded their APIs and the WD is getting confused, or if Windows is just more resilient to internet stupidity than the WD TVL+.

I check for updates every couple of days, but the firmware the box came with appears to still be the cutting edge.  The “warranty of fitness” isn’t holding up.
