Wd tv live does not play video?

I bought my WD TV Live yesterday, connected it and played around with it. upgraded the firmware to the latest (1.02.21 i believe), music seemed to work, network shares were seen, but video from the shares did not play, they were recognised, i can see the thumbnails but when played i get that annoying running blue wheel. So today i thought to try it with some usb sticks, but nothing plays, not even the mp4 samples from the installation cd. My own files are plain avi (with xvid or divx).

I am trying it on an older tv (with the left/right/video connectors) and my own avi’s are a max of 720*5xx(not sure what exactly) but still the sample video’s don’t even play!

Any bright idea’s out there?

One of your files must be ‘bad’ and has probably hung up the player. Try a side button reset using a paperclip and then unplug the unit for some minutes. Now try some known good files and see if they play.
