Hi, we have been happily using a WDTV player for a few years with no problems, and decided to upgrade last week to a WDTV Live.
We have exactly the same setup - Sony Bravia - Onkyo receiver - HDMI cabling - WD elements external drive with mostly AVI media.
As soon as we installed the new player it upgraded to the latest firmware, and we can use all the menu functionality ok.
The issue we are having is that all of our video files are now having performance problems with playback - basically signal loss to black screen followed by static screen, and then it continues playback normally. appears to occur randomly throughout everything we play. never had this issue with WDTV.
Any suggestions as to why this might be happening - is it an issue with the player that requires an exchange, or a setting that we can tweak??
