If it does everything you want, there’s no need to upgrade the firmware yet. Something to try (if you haven’t already) is unplugging the WD TV from the power supply and leaving it for 10 minutes. This should empty the cache. See if that helps. If not, perhaps a factory reset may help speed it up…
