Just got my WDTV Live yesterday. Hooked it all up and updated the firmware. The component video only produces sqiggly lines, but the composite video works fine . It is hooked up to a CRT Tv, and I tried changing the settings with no luck. My DVD player hooked up to the TV through the component input works fine. Could it be the unit itself or the cables, or am I doing something wrong.

If you are hooking it to an old CRT TV then it most probably only supports interlaced SD signals, and the minimum resolution supported by the WDTV on the component/HDMI outputs is progressive (480p). I guess you won’t be able to use the component output with your TV unless they decide to support 480i / 576i, if it’s even possible.
