Cinavia DRM

I can not play some rips anymore such as repo man.

This problem is caused by  Cinavia DRM.

When will be there a solution?

I would assume never on the WDTV live. You will probably have to do something about it during the rip if that is possible.

Why never?

If I understand those articles correctly, then I think the point is, if you have a file that’s not playable due to Cinavia, then it DOES support it, and you’re playing illegally obtained material.  Does that make sense?

The Sigma chip used in the Live/Live+ does say that it supports audio Watermark Detection.  I have no clue if it’s actually “enabled” or not…

Don’t get me wrong please.

I don’t see the relevance for this so called copy protection, take a notebook install Plex use the Hdmi cable connect it to yr plasma and ready.

Does it mean all media players do not support Dts files with this protection?

I don’t disagree…  Same goes with Netflix, etc…  It’s what the license holders will allow, not the video device…  It’s all a matter of legalities…

Which shows yet again why one should avoid DRM like the plague.

This issue is NOT DRM related but related to mkvtoolnix 4.1.1 as it uses HEADER COMPRESSION as default.  Remux it with mkvmerge 4.1.1 by clicking on DTS track and choosing Extra options and for Compression choose NONE.

And how did you come to that conclusion based on the info above?
