Manual Firmware Update - No Remote

I broke my remote (because my brain is small).  Is there a way to manually update the firmware?  I downloaded the latest version and extracted the files to the root directory through File Explorer on a PC in the house (I believe).  I then turned off and on the WDTVLIVEHUB.  No dice on the upgrade as the opening screen shows “New Firmware”.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

try the Web UI from your computer. It has a remote emulation function.

Thanks for that insight.  I would LOVE to login to the Web UI.  No idea what the password it.  I believe I did change it way back when.  Someone posted that you can open the database.db file in notepad to see the passord.  I did so and didn’t see anything.

Any ideas to reset the password with no remote?

There is also an iphone / itouch remote control app. Free

Yes, do a system reset by pressing the RESET button (on the bottom of the box) for 1-3 seconds with the system already booted.
