sorry for late reply. problem is solved now. i think that that problem was at my tv’s end. i have three hdmi ports at my tv. i deselected the hdmi connection, again selected that specific hdmi port of wd tv live hub. voila, i’m getting sounds via hdmi. sorry for bothering you people. i have faced so much problems since buying this, i thought that it was a new one on my problem list. many many thanks for your kind concern.
