My old PC (a quad core ASUS P6T7) needs a facelift with a blu-ray drive. I don’t want to watch blu-ray on the PC, just rip my disks to my WHS server. Any suggestions for drives and ripping software? I currently use version 4.4.8.0 DVD NextCopy which may rip blue ray, but I don’t have the drive yet so I haven’t tried.
Thanks,
Mike
PavTube’s ByteCopy is the best and easiest software I’ve found to rip BDs to MKV format. It’s practically one-click easy with zero transcoding and it preserves all multi-channel audio tracks. It’s also pretty cheap and has ripped everything I throw at it (mostly Netflix discs). I have an old LG BD drive and a newer Memorex BD drive in my desktop. Both work equally well at ripping discs and playing them back.
Thanks, I will look for that software.
