Continuous Compiling - Never finding any files on Hub

After the last upgrade for my WD TV Live Hub I cannot get any files to show up and the WD TV continously says compiling, yet never finds any files for Photos, Video or Music. If you browse the hub with the file browser you can see all of the files. I am only looking for files located locally on the WD TV Live Hub.

I’ve left it on over night with no success.

Any suggestions?

This can happen if there’s a media file that chokes the WD.

Try removing all the files, and then adding them back in small portions.

If the problem occurs again, you know which set of files caused the problem.

So what types of files does it choke on and is there anyway to access a log to see what the last file indexed was?

How do I add them in batches if I have already copied everything to the hub? Can you exclude folders on the drive?

Thanks

 What types…

No way of knowing.   It can happen with poor encodes that have corrupted metadata in them, but it’s impossible to predict.

anyway to access a log

Nope…

Can you exclude…

Actually, YES.   If you PRECEDE a folder name with a “.”, such as renaming “My Movies 1” to “.My Movies 1” the hub will COMPLETELY ignore the folder when it builds the library.
