I'm too late to get a copy. is there another way - i'm desperate...
Or - when is the final version likely to be available.

How do you think that this firmware will help you?

Peter is looking to enable the "Playto" feature of Windows7. The beta firmware allows the WDTV to have media pushed to it from any network connected device.... ie using the iPhone as a remote for the WDTV (or any other media device)

Tried installing this pre-release firmware and there are network issues!
I cant access my network folders with this firmware at all. After installing, I logged into my network share, and it gave me this error : "There is no media in the current folder".
After factory reset and power reboot, I was still not able to access my network shares! I tried switching off auto login, manually entered the username/password, and still the same error!
I then rolled back to latest stable 1.01.24, and now I can access my network shares as normal. There are definitely some major issues with this pre-release. I hope we can get this sorted before a stable release is out.
Cheers for the good work. Keep it up WD!

Installed this new prerelease firmware a while back, and havent had any issues at all. PGS subtitle support is AWESOME!!

I had the first player and now bought the Live, it's great and i'm very happy with it.
This firmware works fine for everything I do, I only have two requests. First that the default subtitle position should be lower; and second that when I press play and have several files, that it remembers my current position on the subtitles when it starts playing the next file!

Awesome! Keep'em coming!
I haven't tried it yet. I just wanted to say thank you guys (Bill_S)! It's good to see pre-release updates.
I will report any issues i have in detail.
Thanks again.
To All The Constant Complainers:
There is a whole lot of complaining in this thread. Actually do basic troubleshooting. If feel like you should'nt have to troubleshoot then you shouldn't be in a pre-release thread. Some of these posts are simply ridiculous. If you are still having an issue afterwards, make sure no one else mentioned it before you post something. It's really annoying to see multiple posts of people complaining about the same issue. Give the first post that mentions it a kudo or something.

Yesterday I watched a 40 minutes movie. At the beginning of the movie, the audio and video where perfectly in synch. But as the movie was going on, th audio was becoming more and more lagging. At the end of the movie, there was about a 3 seconds delay for the audio.... Almost unwatchable... the video was an .avi and the audio was an mpeg audio. I could send more data about the audio/video description, if required... I tried this movie on a patriot box office and there was no problem at all... Presently, I use the hdmi output set at 1080p..
thank you
