Turn on WDTV Live and get nothing

In the past few days, when I’ve turned on my WDTV Live it is not recognized (“no signal” ).  I can plug another device into the same HDMI TV input and it works fine.

I assume this has something to do with the great new firmware update.

Anybody else, having the same problem?

Suggestions?

This is really a great time to release a buggy update, yes?

Anybody else, having the same problem?

A search would answer that, now wouldn’t it?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have searched.  For example, I searched for “no signal” and found nothing.

From my reading of all the posts about the new firmware update, it seems most people are able to get into the new update and see the new features (and have some problems with them).

What I am saying is that I can’t even get that far.

Again, when I turn on WD TV Live, I get nothing.  No signal detected.

Anybody else have the exact same problem?

Suggestions?  Specific words to search the forum for?  Others?

Try connecting via the composite lead and setting the HDMI manually. It may be that the HDMI output is now set to something that your TV does not support.

If that does not work try resetting via the side paperclip button (1 sec) with the unit on. It should reboot. Also try unplugging for some minutes.

Thanks.

I connected the WD TV Live via composite lead and it works.  I can watch videos as usual.  Thanks.

However, I need to get the HDMI working.  I have 4 HDMIs and just one composite that I use for something else.

How exactly do I set “the HDMI manually”?

How can you set HDMI when you are using composite?  The setting just goes back to composite.
