HI All,
I recently bought a AV Receiever and thought this might fix the hdmi issue as it will bypass the signal from wd-tv to tv through the receiver but no luck again. I got frustrated and finally went back to the shop I bought it originally, good on them they replaced it there and then and now everything works fine. I am not sure how long its going to work fine but only replacement was able to fix this idiotic HDMI issue. WD-TV has to do something about it!
Cheers

Well, if replacing it fixed the problem, then the problem isn't something "WD-TV" can fix now.

i have the same problem as you guys !
For me the problem appear when i connected it to another tv and then i came back to my tv..
In fact i used only hdmi since the beginning and now i can't because i don't have any image. I try to update the firmware, i changed the hdmi cable and even i tried it on another TV. It's like the hdmi is broken. So to continue using it, i have to use the component cable. With this one i have the image (but not 1080p). So i tried also to put the output on hdmi in the wd tv hd live when i was on the component output. but it doesn't work, i still dont have the image with the hdmi.

My WD TV bought from Amazon 22/8/2011 work very well on a Panasonic 37" TX-P37X10B using HDMI connection. But then problems after use on a Wharfedale 26" Flat screen television via HDMI lead. When reconnected to the Panasonic TV screen was red and you could just see the WD logo but then it would break up. Also the same on another 26" Panasonic TV. At present using on the Panasonic TV via component leads and works. I have asked WD Support for some ideas of what I can do. Up to press I have carried out a reset. Tried other HDMI cables including one from my Freesat Humax box with no success. I also tried changing TV Bands NTSC and PAL no luck. The WD TV still works on the 26" Wharfedale via the HDMI cable which makes me think its a issue that not only WD TV should be involved but also Panasonic.

Had a similar problem with Samsung Series 4 plasma, after almost giving up I pressed the Source button on the actual TV (not the remote) and suddenly the signal came through.
Maybe this will help the OP (bit late though hehe).
