WD TV HD Media Player extremely slow to respond to commands

Hi,

I have had the WD TV HD Media Player (PN WDBABF0000NBK -00) for 7 months now and it was functioning well till recently. Since a month back, it has started to respond extremely slowly to simple commands like play, stop etc (it takes more than 2 mins to go from one command to the other).  The WD TV reads the files off a Seagate 1TB external hard drive and is connected through a HDMI cable to a 32" Samsung LCD.

Appreciate any suggestions/help with this.

    * Disconnect from drive and unplug player (for about 10 min)
    * Delete “.wd_tv” folder off the drive
    * Restore player to “factory settings”  (Do not connect drive until the Restore is completed)

note:  Firmware remains untouched.
