PLEASE HELP !!!! - hundreds WMV movies not working

I just bought the  WD HD media player.
I have hundreds wmv movie files, but it seems that the player can not play my .wmv files?

What can I do yo play these files?

Hello,

 

Please post your files media info from http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en, then we can see what 's the version of the codecs.

First, are you sure you bought a WDTV HD, not a Live or Live+?   It's surprising to hear that it's still being sold anywhere.

 

Anyway, I believe that only WMV9 files will play, not WMV2.   The file extension won't tell you.  As Nesvic suggested, you'll need to use Mediainfo.
