Can we download apps somehow?

Hi all…i have had my player now for about a month and i love it…but i would like to know if we can download new apps to the player and if we can, how do we go about doing it??..and i tried signing onto YouTube through the player but am unable to do so…im just using the player connected to my PC via ethernet.
