I had my Pictures on my Windows XP computer backed up to my WD My Book Essential Drive. The Computer failed and I just got a New Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Computer & want to transfer everything back.
Thank God I had everything backed up on the WD Drive…
Do I just Plug the Drive into the Computer & Restore Back to Original Locations or is there something elese I need to do first?

If you used software for your backup you probably will have to install that on your new computer to retrieve the data. You may also need to enable Show Hidden Files to find the backup file.

I had the WD Smartware installed on the Windows XP Computer that Failed…So I guess I’ll just download it from WD…and go from there…
