I have uninstalled WD Smatrware as suggested, but running the latest update did not reinstall the program.
I then tried reinstalling WDS from the files included on My Book, which gave me version 1.4.11.
Running the latest update did not update this version, neither did running the previous update to version 2.4.2, which had previously worked. In both cases the installer claimed to be running, though the blus line showing progress did not appear, then the Finished screen appearsed without prompting for a restart. My version of WD Smartware is now only 1.4.11.
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.
I could not find the full 2.4.4 version of the program on the website. The products advertised did not give the version. If this is what I need, please send me a link to the correct file and confirm that it will install without payment.
