I can’t update my smart ware. I receive a message “Installation unsuccessful(error code :1603) Please try again or contact WD support for assistance.”

uninstall the software and download and install the latest version

Error 1603 refers to a corrupted Windows Installer package, this may not be resolved by reinstalling the software.  I suggest you to contact WD Support.
