My 4TB MyBook is working just fine as my primary backup device. In the spirit of “If it’s working, don’t mess with it” … any real reason to upgrade its firmware and software (v 1.4.5.2)?
Updating the firmware is only recommended when there are new features you would like to add (If included) or when facing performance/behavior issues. WD SmartWare on the hand should be constantly updated for optimization.
