Reinstalling WD Smartware/Windows

Hi,

Lets say that I have all my data on drive D. And lets say that I make a backup for that driver using the WD Smartware.

Now, how does the WD Smartware behave when I uninstall and then reinstall it? Or when I reinstall my operating System (On drive C) and then install a new instance of WD Smartware.

Is it going to override all the existing data in my external HD? Does the WD Smartware has some kind of indexing systems that keep it updated agaist the original data even when I reinstall the software or the OS?

Thanks

SmartWare won’t reactivate a backup plan until you click the “Start Backup” button.  However, if your computer has the same network name as before, it will continue with the previous plan.  If your computer has a different network name then it will treat your computer as if it never had a backup plan before.

Hi,

Thanks for answering so quick.

So, basically reinstalling the WS Smartware has no effect .It will continue working just like it was never removed.

Right?

Thanks
