Regarding New Release of WD SmartWare Version for Windows

I noticed earlier today that Smartware Version 2.2.1.6 for Windows was available and downloaded it. However, it seems it is no longer available on WD’s website at the moment. I did the installation, but there were some strange indications, like it said it needed to restart, but didn’t, so I uninstalled it and cleaned up my registry and PC shortly after I set it up and didn’t try a backup.

Was there an issue with it that caused it to be removed or was it just available prematurely?

That SmartWare wasn’t an older version.  It was prematurely released.  It should be back up once it’s been tested for download.

Bill, thanks for the update. I was going to try reinstalling version 2.2.1.6 for Windows that I downloaded and installed earlier, but I think I’ll wait for the fully blessed release.
