When trying to instal message appears:
Cannot launch wdsync.exe - and I cannot find it on wd disc - perhaps it has been erased? Where can I get one?

Unfortunately WD Sync is no longer provided on WD’s site. However, a web search might be able to provide you with an archived copy.
It is also possible for WD Sync to still be within your hard drive and the error message is the result of using the application in an incompatible operating system like Windows 8.
