I jrecently downloaded the current version of the Data LifeGuard Diagnostic program for Windows. It works just great on all four of my in-house systems. However, just one issue - it only wants to work on drives attached to the MB’s Intel Controller. Since I have SSD’s and Raptors attached to the Intel Sata 6G ports on these systems I can’t get any information on the brand new Black and Blue 1TB Sata 3 drives that are attached to the Marvell SATA 6G controllers on the motherboards. Sure would be nice if WD would support a few other controllers since most new MB’s have multiple SATA (6G) controllers on board. Or…am I missing something?
And the answer is … Run as Administrator! Thank you Knowledge Base. WRONG. For some reason the program does not like the Marvell controllers on a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H MB. It works ok on an Asus P8-Z68-V Pro MB. Both MB’s use Marvell controllers for the extra SATA (6G) connectors.
