How to play MKV files on Samsung DVD player from WD ShareSpace?

We have Samsung BD7000 and WD ShareSPace 8 TB. We are able to stream and play AVI files but not MKV files. MKV files can be played from Samsung DVD player from USB port. How can I make MKV files play stored on WD ShareSpace via Samsung 7000 to our TV?

How are you trying to play the files? Using clean SMB access or using Twonky? Because Twonky doesn’t support MKV files on the SS.
